Unified Communications Training Portal

Client Goals:

The objective of the Maryland based federal small business was to create a unified training portal to provide government users an online training portal and a class scheduling system. The client wanted to easily expand the training portal to new government agencies and required subsequent maintenance support of the system.
 

Our Contributions:

The user friendlier portal was built in Drupal, with a login profile, online page by page classroom model, integrated videos through Vimeo, a survey and downloadable presentations of different file types (PDF, Word, PowerPoint). The class scheduling system was integrated into the portal; however, it was built in a separate PHP based server. This system provides class availability, registration, and email confirmation features. In the maintenance phase, social media chat capabilities and 508 compatibility were added to the training portal in addition to the regular updates, patches and troubleshooting needs. Seven modules of classes were implemented on the subject matter, telecommunications studies.
